This message is not only for the elderly ones but also for
the younger people that desire a fulfilling old age. It is one thing to be old
and another to enjoy one's old age. I pray that you will not live through your
older years in shame and regrets, in the name of Jesus. However, in order to
enjoy your latter years, it is advisable that you lay a good foundation for
your old age. Are you there now? Then you need to look back and ask for the
grace to correct your mistakes and make your remaining years on earth
worthwhile.
There are examples in scriptures of men and women who lived
fulfilled lives and died fulfilled and assured of eternity with Christ. There
are also living examples of fathers in the faith who knew it was time to be
with the Lord and confidently said farewell to this world. In the same vein,
some men are unhappy when they see what happened in their early years, and
their older years are full of pains and regrets. This should not be so! The
popular saying, "As you lay your bed, so you lie on it" is true to a
great extent. How well have you lived your younger years in preparation to
enjoy your old age? What are those mistakes that could still be corrected now,
the sins to be repented of, the relationship to be mended and many more?
Life cannot be enjoyed in isolation. In your old age, you
should be a God-loving and people- loving person. Hence, your salvation is
non-negotiable. Maintain good health physically and be mentally and emotionally
balanced. You need to be full of life, and ready to share the story of your
life's journey with the younger ones, to correct, direct, guide and inspire
them. Be a godly counsellor and do not hesitate to share your failures also, so
that others can learn from it and avoid making the same errors in their lives.
Become a book for people to read and endeavour to make positive impact.
Remember, your years do not count as much as the impact you make on people's
lives.

1. Father, forgive me for every careless way I have lived my
life before now, in the name of Jesus.
2. Confess and repent of every sin and ungodly things you
have done or be involved in.
3. O God, take out of my life anything that can hinder my
full joy at old age, in the name of Jesus.

4. I break and destroy evil pattern of suffering and
hardship in old age of my father's house, in the name of Jesus.
5. I enter into the covenant of full and ripe old age in
Christ, in the name of Jesus.
6. I shall live and fulfil my days, rejoicing in the Lord
and impacting the world for Christ, in the name of Jesus.
7. Lord Jesus, be present in me and help me to enjoy my old
age in Your presence.
